ADDRESS TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE USA

We the undersigned citizens of Serbia (and the Serbs living outside Serbia) have decided to voice our opinion on what we deem to be essential issues for both our nation’s future and the relations to the people of USA in the years to come. It is our foremost desire, as it has always been in our history, to maintain friendly relations with the people of the USA, or any other good-willing nation or people. We presume that You as legitimate representatives of Your nation must be conversant with our past and must possess a minimum of humane interest in the issues of all nations on the globe. This at least would be expected from the most technologically and industrially advanced nation of the world. It would also be logical to expect that your minds and efforts be set on improving the whereabouts of your voters, while not triggering a train of events that may bring calamity to your neighbors. We still cherish hopes that your nation is a Christian nation in the best sense of that word. Unfortunately, Your military, economic, propagandist, cinematographic and other activities of late have assured us, the awakened representatives of the Serbian people, that something is deeply wrong with the once great nation that America used to be. You have betrayed the ideals of your Founding Fathers, your nation and the whole world. You have become estranged from your people, which boils down to being estranged from the rest of humanity as well. Your decision, moreover, to place us Serbs on the pillory of global condemnation and contempt in the recent Yugoslav wars is nothing short of a destructive and erroneous act. From the medieval times Serbs have been the rampart of European defense of all the values we have commonly been standing for. Our Christian tsar Lazar opposed the Ottoman onrush in the battle of Kosovo (1389) and while losing the best of his heroes and his own life, he won a moral victory. The Serbian populace subsequently guarded the long borders of Austria (and the entire Europe), the super power of the times between the XVI and XIX cc., from the Turkish invasion. Needless to say, the defense of the then mightiest state meant the survival and safety of the whole Europe. The Serbs, alone in the beginning, started shaking off the Turkish yoke at the dawn of the XIX c. and gained freedom later in the century. The Albanians, living to the south of Serbia’s border, who had sided with the Turks (Moslems) since Turkish invasion, started a campaign of oppression of the Christian populace demanding Albanian autonomy under the Ottomans' rule. This fructified in the League of Prizren, 1878, whose racist and imperial goals can be checked in any serious book on history. Their atrocities have waxed and waned up to this day. Your support to their cause is in conflict with Christianity, humanity, your own people or logic, but undoubtedly in harmony with your strategic interests, whatever you may subsume under that phrase. In WW I Serbian Army, after our homeland was torn apart by the Austro-Hungarian, Bulgarian and German imperial sharks, succeeded with God’s help and oscillating assistance of the Allies, often verging on open betrayal, particularly British, to liberate the country again. In WW II Serbian Chetniks under the leadership of Gen. Draža Mihailović were the first ever organized military force to stand up against Nazism. We Serbs have always fought, as You would remember if only You had goodwill to do so, against darkness and oppression. The Chetniks, among other heroic feats, saved the lives of 500 American airmen. American president Harry Truman awarded Gen. Mihailović the Legion of Merit (March 29th, 1948). Quite recently, on July 17th, 1986, a Proclamation of Mihailović's Memorial Day took place in Los Angeles, California. It is also necessary to mention in this Serbian history in a nutshell a constant envy of our Croatian brother Cain and the support of their misdeeds by Vatican, Great Britain or other clandestine enemies of our people, whose behavior depended predominantly on their rapacious interests. The history of Croatian oppression, murders or hate of Serbs is also very long and its climax was reached in WW II when the so called Independent State of Croatia, a Nazi ally, proclaimed as one of its aims that one third of Serbs (who had been living on Croatian territory at least as long as the Croatians) be catholicized, one third ousted and one killed. True to their promises, only in the WW II concentration camp of Jasenovac the Ustashis, Croatian fascists, killed more than 800,000 people, women and children. (V. Avro Manhattan, The Vatican’s Holocaust: The Sensational Account of the Most Horrifying Religious Massacre of the 20th Century, Springfield, MO, Ozark Books, 1986. p. 98. At its regular meeting in 2009, the International Commission for the Truth about Jasenovac, after years of research, reported that over 700,000 Serbs, 23,000 Jews and 80,000 Roma were killed in the Jasenovac system of Croatian camps for the extermination of Serbs, Jews and Roma.) Please mind here that only Jasenovac death factory is accountable for this number, while the total toll we Serbs paid is much higher. Croatian enmity flared up again in the last wars when aided by NATO forces Croats expelled about 400.000 Serbs from Croatia, although they were the second constitutive ethnicity in Croatia apart from Croats. Listing the atrocities of our enemies and lies about us perpetrated by the Western countries would require an encyclopedic space and huge amount of time. The saddest part in this all is the fact that You as representatives of the American people have taken a gigantic part in demonizing us Serbs in Your press, in movies and all possible walks of life that lay at your disposal. In this address to You we sincerely hope that the American people may or will eventually be able to discern a huge injustice piled upon our brave nation, and when time is ripe, find courage and sympathy for our cause and lend a hand of understanding. We demand immediately in the name of friendly relations with our two peoples that You stop Your truly wicked propaganda, falsifications of our history, our character, our borders and every single constituent of our being. Stop that in the name of Christ! Leave the abomination and all atrocities towards other peoples so that You won’t fall out of God’s favour. Stop lying about others’ faults before it is too late. Or according to the Bible (Matthew 7: 4) - Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? God bless the righteous and the meek! KOSOVO I METOHIJA = SRBIJA! Written on Božić (Christmas), 2019. SRBSKI SABOR SVETI SAVA
